Pre & Post Care Instructions
To ensure the safety of your treatment, we reserve the right to decline any services and should not be getting treatment if you are currently:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Recovering from any recent surgeries and currently on certain medications
- Allergic to any ingredients in Botox, dermal fillers, and/or dissolver
- Suffer from neurological disorders
Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment so we can advise accordingly.
Before Your Appointment
One week before your appointment:
- We want you to be your most radiant self! To that end, we ask that you refrain from getting any facials or treatments that can irritate or require a long healing process before your appointment. This includes chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, etc.
- If you’re on blood thinners, you’ll need to stop taking them a week prior to your appointment. This includes, Tylenol, Advil, Fish Oil, Vitamin E—or any other medications that may thin the blood. If you have any specific concerns about your health or treatment plan, feel free to reach out to our team or your primary care doctor.
- Over the Counter Arnica: It is not mandatory but it is helpful to reduce bruising and swelling if you can get over the counter Arnica cream or tablets. Start taking them a week prior to your appointment and follow instructions on the label accordingly.
Night & day of your appointment:
- Please remember to refrain from drinking alcohol the night before your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood, causing you to swell or bruise more than usual.
- On the day of your appointment, please try and refrain drinking coffee which also thins your blood.
After Your Appointment
General
- DO NOT PANIC! After your treatment, you will see results immediately which is the initial swelling. This will go down by 30-40% and will NOT be your final result. You should allow up to 2+ weeks for full healing. Depending on your body, sometimes it often takes up to a month especially tear trough (under eyes), lips, and jawline. Ice and arnica will be your best friend during the healing period and acetaminophen can be taken to reduce pain as necessary.
- We recommend that you keep the area treated clean and refrain from wearing makeup, working out, sunbathing, saunas, hot tubs, etc. for at least 24 hours. You may still wash your face regularly with a gentle cleanser and can resume your daily routine after 48 hours.
- Areas treated can feel hard at first and will soften gradually over the next few weeks.
Lip Augmentation:
- Avoid any dental work or anything orally for the 2 weeks.
- Avoid any hot foods (cool them down first) or spicy foods for the next 24 hours after the initial treatment.
- Your lips will feel sore & tender for a few days after your injection, and you may experience swelling & bruising. The swelling will gradually subside each day. You can expect your lips to go down about 30-40% within the first two weeks. *Please note, lips sometimes do take up to a month to heal.
- If there are any lumps or bumps (which can happen sometimes), you can massage them during or after a hot shower after 5 days.
Jawline/Cheek/ Chin Augmentation:
- Avoid any dental work or anything orally for the 2 weeks.
- After your treatment, you may feel tightness in the area treated. This is normal and the feeling should subside within a few days. You may also notice that it feels heavy and tender to chew food (i.g. steak or chicken).
- For the first 24 hours, please try and sleep on your back and over the next few days, avoid pressing up against your face.
- If there are any lumps or bumps, we recommend massaging in a circular motion during or after a hot shower after 5 days.
- Be mindful to not push up against the treated areas. For example, when sitting and putting your hand under your lower face to give yourself support.
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
- Please refrain from wearing glasses or sunglasses for the first 24-48 hours.
- If you are to wear a mask, please use the softer side of the mask (NOT the wire side).
